Guerilla recording taken to a new level.
A group of Danish event makers of RUC (Roskilde University College) took the up the challenge of putting musicians in a completely new and foreign situation. Simply put, they took away their guitar amps, keyboards and everything that required power, challenged them to invite a very limited audience to a concert in a place that was in some way special or unique to the artist and made them do an acoustic live performance.
Several Danish artists took up the challenge including Nikolaj Nørlund, Rumour Said Fire, Murder and Rebekka Maria. Welcoming the audience in their own home, a swimming hall or the local church, all with a performance especially made for that one evening.
Mads Mølgaard and I was in charge of recording, mixing and mastering of all sessions of this super cool project, below is a few songs from a sessions from danish pop artist Rebekka Maria, who had chosen to collaborate with folk singer Hymns From Nineveh. Rebekka had rearranged all of his to songs to piano or harp and vice versa with Hymnes From Nineveh who had taken the electronic universe of Rebekka Maria and made them into beautiful arrangements on cello or acoustic guitar.
